Our curriculum is implemented:
- Through a focus on three key quality-of-life areas: My Independence, My Wellbeing and My Communication, which are personalised and informed by our bespoke TreeHouse School curriculum assessment framework.
- Through a topic cycle aligned with our quality-of-life aims, we focus on three core topics each year: (Myself and Others, The World Around Me and The Planet and Beyond) delivered in a personalised way tailored to each class's learning and development and personal interests.
- Through subjects and experiences which are carefully designed and sequenced to provide pupils with essential, transferable skills for life beyond the classroom.
- Through a combination of tailored teaching strategies and multi-sensory approaches, ensuring all pupils are supported through their own personal learning journey.
Assessment:
Our assessment framework is structured into nine progressive levels within each subject area on the online platform Earwig. This system enables staff to capture and evidence even the smallest steps of progress across the curriculum.
As every pupil’s starting point is unique, they can move flexibly through the nine levels at a pace that reflects their individual needs and development. Each level has been carefully benchmarked against national standards, ensuring all achievements are accurately recorded and celebrated.
At TreeHouse School, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. Our Religious Education (RE) curriculum is taught through the 'Understanding the world' strand, alongside a calendar of special events throughout the school year. These events are highlighted in our termly newsletter.
If parents have any questions or concerns, please contact the school office or notify your child’s class teacher. If you would like your child to opt out of any RE activities mentioned in our school newsletter, please don't hesitate to let us know.
