Music, dance and drama at TreeHouse School

They say time flies when you are having fun, and this term certainly has for us in the Performing Arts team.

In music, different classes have enjoyed playing in Brazilian Samba band, singing and signing with friends, exploring the sounds and songs of the farmyard or learning to use symbols to read and write the music we like.

We have also enjoyed visits by Indian music specialists, dance teachers and celebrity autistic jazz pianist Derek Paravicini. Classes studying drama have looked at different aspects of film, such as character, music and setting. They have explored different film genres, paying particular attention to animation as a style of film making by creating flipbooks and short stop-motion films in class.

We also enjoyed workshops led by sensory theatre practitioners and have had trips to experience the arts in the community, our outing to see Wicked a particular highlight.
