The Senior Leadership Team identify priorities for the year through the School Development Plan (SDP) which informs arrangements for staff training, development of curriculum areas and assessing pupil progress.
Kerry Sternstein – Headteacher
Kerry Sternstein has been appointed as the new Head Teacher of TreeHouse School. She will take up her role at the start of the new academic year in September 2016. Kerry has over thirty years of experience of working with children, young people and adults in a range of settings. Kerry has taught for the last twenty years at Shaftesbury School, an ‘outstanding’ special school in Harrow, where she was Head of School.
Prior to this, Kerry worked as a SENCO and English and Drama teacher in mainstream high schools. She is a qualified teacher, PGCE tutor, mentor and coach and has been granted two national awards for services to special needs and outstanding training. She also holds the NPQH – the national qualification for Head teachers.
Kevan Wayne-Morris - Deputy Headteacher of Upper School
Kevan has worked with children and young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities in a variety of education settings for the past 14 years. Kevan is a qualified teacher and has worked in Further Education, Youth Work, Private Training and Commercial training sectors. Having led Ofsted Grade 1 provision he has a passion for ensuring learners with learning difficulties and disabilities grow in confidence, access opportunities to realise their ambitions and take their places as adults in their community. Kevan has recently worked with Ambitious about Autism on; the Finished at School and Succeeding at College projects. He served as the college lead for the London hub led by Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College Finished at School Programme. Prior to following a career in education Kevan spent 15 years in the Royal Air Force as a policeman where helped NATO forces learn spoken and written English.
Bernice Sargent - Business Manager
Bernice joined TreeHouse School in November 2014. Bernice had worked within the education and care sector as a Finance and Operations Manager for 6 years. Prior to this Bernice worked within the finance sector for a number of financial institutions. Bernice holds the level 4 Diploma in School Business Management (CSBM) and also an Institute of Leadership and Management Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management. Bernice is motivated and committed to provide assistance and support to enable pupils to be able to make choices, achieve their goals towards their desired outcomes and their onward destination
